When was the Model T invented?

Henry Ford designed the Model T in 1908, and the car stayed in production until 1927. Ford sold more than 15 million units of the Model T.
Before the Model T, the automobile was a luxury limited primarily to the wealthy. Ford wanted to bring the thrill and utility of driving to the masses. He designed a car and a production method using assembly lines that radically decreased the cost of car construction. When the Model T debuted, it sold for about $800, but further efficiencies such as offering the car only in black decreased that price to less than $300 by 1925.
