What is mold mitigation?

Mold mitigation, commonly called mold remediation, is the process by which mold is removed from a home or business to prevent damage to the health of its occupants and property loss.

Cleaning up mold requires fixing leaks or other water damage and cleaning mold from surfaces. To properly remediate a structure filled with mold, some materials, such as porous ceiling tiles or carpet, may need to be thrown away. During mold remediation, minimize mold exposure by wearing a special mask and specialized clothing. Many structures have additional hidden mold that needs to be removed to remediate the mold growth entirely.
