By Forinfos - 28/04/2025 - 0 comments

Monocalcium phosphate is an inorganic compound that is prepared by treating calcium oxide with phosphoric acid. It is a white crystalline powder used as a nutritional supplement for livestock and poultry. Due to its acidic nature, it is also used as a leavening agent in baking.

When added to feed, monocalcium phosphate boosts the metabolism of animals by restoring calcium and phosphorous deficiencies in their diet, increases weight gain, and improves their immune and reproductive systems. It is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is used as a flavor enhancer in beverages and wine. It is also used in the glass and plastic industries as an emulsifier and stabilizer, respectively.
