Where do morel mushrooms grow?
By Forinfos - 18/03/2025 - 0 comments
Morel mushrooms grow all over the United States, but they do not grow in desert regions or in the coastal regions of the Deep South. The Great Lakes region of the Midwest is the best for finding morel mushrooms.
Morel mushrooms are most plentiful around elm and ash trees. Other good locations are around sycamore, tulip poplar, apple and cottonwood trees. Morel mushrooms often grow near dead and dying trees, and they also grow well in areas where there have been forest fires. The growing season varies by region, but is usually between April and June, when the soil temperature is at least 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
