What does mouth cancer look like?

Mouth cancer usually appears as a sore in the mouth that does not heal in the mouth, according to WebMD. It can occur in different parts of the mouth, including the tongue, lips, cheeks and throat. Without treatment, mouth cancer can be fatal.

Symptoms of mouth cancer include a sore throat, loose teeth, tongue pain, difficulty swallowing, and a white or reddish spot in the mouth, says Mayo Clinic. Other symptoms include a lump in the mouth and jaw pain. Oral cancer is more common in men than women, and men 50 years of age and older are most vulnerable.
