How much do aerospace engineers make?

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, aerospace engineers had a median income of $103,720 per year in 2012. Hourly, workers made $49.87 during the same year.

The median income indicates that half of the workforce earned more and the other half earned less than the median. Aerospace engineers in the top 10 percent for income earned over $149,120, while the bottom 10 percent earned less than $65,450. Also according to BLS research, engineers who worked for the federal government earned the highest incomes. Other high-income industries include aerospace parts and product manufacturing, scientific research and manufacturing of control instruments for navigating and measuring.
