BLS also reports that the outlook for flight attendants is declining at a rate of 7 percent. Approximately 5,500 jobs are expected to be eliminated in the industry by 2022. The minimum educational requirement to work as an air hostess is a high school diploma or equivalent, and job training is usually provided by the employer. An individual applying for a job as a flight attendant must be at least 18 years old.
