How much does a boilermaker earn?

According to the 2012 United States Department of Labor Statistics, the average median salary for a boilermaker is $56,560 per year or about $27.19 per hour. A boilermaker career requires a high school diploma or equivalent and an apprenticeship program.

Boilermakers assemble, install and repair boilers, vats and other large containers that hold gases and liquids. The job is physically demanding and quite dangerous, and many in the career must travel and spend long periods of time away from home. Candidates with previous welding experience are more likely to be accepted into the apprenticeship program that boilermakers must go through.
