As of 2015, BBVA Compass does not charge customers any fees to open or maintain a Certificate of Deposit. Customers can open a CD account with a minimum opening deposit of $500.
Certificate of Deposit interest rates vary based on current market conditions, the amount of money that is invested and the term that is selected. As a general rule, interest rates are higher for longer-term CDs.
Customers can open a CD account at BBVA Compass online at BBVACompass.com, via the company's toll-free phone number or in a local BBVA Compass branch. Click on the Locations tab at the bank's home page to search for a bank by city and state, or by ZIP code.
