How much does a cheetah weigh?

Cheetahs weigh between 88 and 140 pounds. They are the fastest animal in the world and can reach speeds of up to 70 miles per hour. Their diet depends on their location but they typically consume zebras, gazelles and wildebeests.

Other large animals are not predators of the adult cheetah, however, a cheetah's cubs are susceptible to attacks by lions and eagles. There are approximately 8,500 cheetahs in the world and they are an animal that is facing extinction.

Cheetahs reach sexual maturity in 20 to 24 months. The average cheetah litter contains three cubs that have a lifespan of 10 to 12 years.
