How much does a mountain goat weigh?

A mountain goat typically weighs between 100 and 200 pounds. Female mountain goats are about 30 percent smaller than the males, and newborns weigh in at around 6 pounds.

Mountain goats are members of the antelope family, and they have wooly fur that keeps them warm in the high elevations they endure. Known for being extremely agile, these creatures are able to easily scale steep and rocky terrain.

Mountain goats like to move to different locations as the seasons change, and some of them wander in herds. The females live with their young much of the year, while the males either live alone or with several other males.
