As of 2015, an annual Florida fishing license for either freshwater or saltwater fishing costs $17.00. Five-year licenses can be purchased for $79.00, and a combined freshwater and saltwater fishing license costs $32.50. Annual licenses for non-Florida residents are $47.00.
Children under the age of 16 and seniors 65 or older who are Florida residents are not required to purchase a freshwater fishing license. Florida offers two free fishing weekends per year: the first weekend of April and the second weekend of June. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission oversees the state's fish and wildlife services, including selling fishing and hunting licenses.
