How much is the GM retiree Christmas bonus?
By Forinfos - 03/09/2025 - 0 comments
In 2015, retirees of General Motors received a Christmas bonus of $500. The Christmas bonus is not an actual bonus but an adjustment made to pensions based on inflation. Because GM distributes these checks in December, retirees refer to them as Christmas bonuses.
The 2015 bonus was the first General Motors retirees had received since 2010. In the past, retirees had received up to $700 in their Christmas bonus checks, and surviving spouses received up to $455. GM eliminated the bonus in the 2011 contract it signed with the United Auto Workers union, but a new contract in 2015 restored the bonus.
