How much do heavy haul truckers make?

A report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates the median annual pay of heavy haul truckers as approximately $38,200. This report is based on median annual wage data from May 2012.

The BLS report also states that heavy haul truckers working in general freight trucking generally make slightly higher median wages at $40,360. Heavy haul truckers transporting specialized goods or nondurable wholesale goods are stated to earn $37,710 and $39,360 annually, respectively. Payment for a heavy haul trucker is generally calculated based on the distance he has covered during a trip, in addition to any bonuses the company pays him.
