According to Health eCareers Network, an OB or obstetric nurse makes a median annual salary of $60,000 to $65,000. An obstetric nurse is a specialty nurse who assists the physician in the delivery of a baby.
Health eCareers Network states that factors such as education, experience, location and specialty affect a nurse's pay.
There are three educational paths to nursing. A nurse with a Bachelor's degree (BSN) earns an average of $57,280 per year. If she has an Associate's degree, she earns an average of $40,250. A basic diploma that allows a nurse to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse yields annual average earnings starting at $31,080, Health eCareers Network explains.
