How much should a Miniature Toy Poodle weigh?

Miniature Poodles should weigh 15 to 17 pounds and measure between 10 and 15 inches at the shoulder. Toy Poodles should weigh 6 to 9 pounds and stand less than 10 inches high. The American Kennel Club recognizes these breeds but not the "miniature toy poodle."

Both Miniature and Toy Poodles were developed from the larger Standard Poodle. Very small Toy Poodles are often called Teacup Poodles. There is no official height standard for these dogs, which are usually less than 9 inches tall and weigh less than 6 pounds. The AKC standard calls for Poodles of all sizes to present an active, intelligent, elegant appearance.
