How much sugar do you put in sweet tea?

To make a gallon of sweet tea, use 1/2 cup to 1 cup of sugar. Those who want sweeter tea, use the full cup of sugar. For tea that is intended to be less sweet, use 1/2 cup of sugar.

To make enough tea for a gallon of sweet tea, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Remove the water from the heat, and add two family-size tea bags, or six to ten regular-size tea bags. Cover and let steep for 10 to 15 minutes.

Add the desired amount of sugar to the tea, and stir until dissolved. Pour the mixture into a 1-gallon container, and add 7 cups of cold water, then serve over ice.
