According to a poll by the makers of Charmin toilet paper, the average person uses 57 sheets of toilet paper per day. Consumers agree that the amount used changes, however, depending on the brand and type of toilet paper being used.
In addition to the obvious use, toilet paper is often used for such everyday tasks as cleaning eyeglass lenses, removing makeup, blowing noses and wiping up a variety of substances. On average, it is estimated that the average person uses 8.6 sheets per bathroom visit, for a total of 57 sheets per day, and a total of more than 20,000 sheets per year. By these estimates, a family of four would use 228 sheets of toilet paper per day and 83,220 sheets per year.
