Will your mug shot be made public?

Because mugshots are public records, they may end up online either on the website of the arresting agency or on a mugshot website such as OnlineMugshots.com or Mugshots.com. Some websites offer to remove an individual’s mugshot for a fee.
The fee for removing mugshots from these websites can run from $100 to $400, and there are numerous sites, so the process of removing all mugshots from the Internet can be costly. At least one state, Utah, prohibits publication of mugshots by websites that charge a fee for their removal, as of 2015. In Oregon, booking websites must remove the photos of people acquitted or exonerated of the crimes noted.
