Muhammad Ali died on June 3, 2016. Since retiring from boxing, Ali worked as a philanthropist to raise money and awareness for numerous charities and causes, including Parkinson's disease, the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Special Olympics. Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1984.

Muhammad Ali was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, KY. His name at birth was Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. He joined the Nation of Islam, a Muslim group for African-Americans, in 1964. This prompted him to change his name to Muhammad Ali. He refused to fight in the Vietnam War due to his religious beliefs. Ali died on June 3, 2016, in Scottsdale, AZ
