Although there are several ways to remove nail polish from a carpet, the easiest method is to blot up excess polish and then use a non-acetone fingernail polish remover. You need clean cloths, paper towels, a non-acetone fingernail polish remover, water and detergent. The process takes under 30 minutes.

  1. Blot up excess nail polish

    Use a paper towel to blot up any excess nail polish in the carpet.

  2. Rub with fingernail polish remover

    Apply a small amount of fingernail polish remover to a cloth. Rub the spot with the cloth until the nail polish lifts. Don't smear the polish onto adjacent areas.

  3. Clean the area

    Using a clean cloth dipped in soapy water, rub the area until the stain is gone. Rinse and dry the carpet.
