The names of the first Ford cars manufactured were the Model A, first sold in July 1903, and the Model T, first sold in October 1908. The Model A, a 2-cylinder vehicle, was built at the Mack Avenue plant in Detroit, Michigan.
In the early years of producing the Model T Ford, workers took 12.5 hours to assemble the chassis. Henry Ford developed an integrated moving assembly line that helped to reduce assembly time to 1.5 hours. Reducing the manufacturing time helped to bring down the vehicle's selling price, which made it more affordable for company employees and the general public. The Model T was produced until 1927.
