The Nebraska state flag is a national blue flag with a center display of the Great Seal of the State reproduction in gold and silver. The bill that passed to adopt a state banner in Nebraska was introduced in 1925 by Representative J. Lloyd McMaster.
It was made the official state flag of Nebraska in 1968. The Great Seal of the State is designed with images of a steamboat on the Missouri River, a smith with a hammer and anvil, settlers cabin, stalks of growing corn and a train that is moving towards the Rocky Mountains. Above these images is the motto, "Equality Before the Law."
