Do neck tattoos hurt?

A neck tattoo is one of the more uncomfortable types of tattoos to get. This means that while people do generally sit through the procedure to completion, it requires much mental focus to accomplish this. It also helps if one is really determined to get the tattoo at the outset.

The pain involved in getting a neck tattoo is a result of the sensitivity of the skin. Because of this, a neck tattoo is not recommended as a first tattoo experience. While there are areas of the body that are even more difficult to tattoo because of pain, such as the hips, stomach and armpit, there are areas which are practically painless to tattoo, such as the upper arm, forearm and thigh.
