Do you need to be trained to feed baby rabbits?
By Forinfos - 05/07/2025 - 0 comments
People feeding baby rabbits do need to be trained on proper technique and schedule. Many baby rabbits die from inexperienced people trying to feed them and injuring or overfeeding them.
Baby rabbits are very fragile and can die from stress alone or from injuries caused by inexperienced handling. They also need to be fed very specific amounts and types of food based on their age and size, and overfeeding can lead to a condition called bloat, which is often fatal. Orphaned wild rabbits should be turned over to an experienced wildlife rehabilitation specialist if possible, and owners of orphaned pet rabbits should work with a veterinarian or other specialist to learn how to take care of them.
