Does Neosporin help pimples?
By Forinfos - 26/02/2026 - 0 comments
Neosporin is effective for treating pimples not rooted to acne bacteria, according to skin care experts at FacingAcne.com. However, since the antibiotic cannot reach into pores to kill bacteria, it does not help eliminate facial acne for good.
Neosporin, a topical antibiotic, is a combination of bacitracin, neomycin and polymyxin B, which is applied to cuts and scrapes. While none of the active ingredients directly attack the bacteria that causes acne, they do eliminate other bacteria that may be present. Since bacitracin is commonly used in the treatment of staph infections, Neosporin is especially effective in attacking the acne caused by staph and strep bacteria.
