Why does my neutered tomcat try to mate?
By Forinfos - 08/04/2026 - 0 comments
A neutered tomcat still has urges to mate if he has experienced mating before, according to The Nest. Offspring won't be conceived if a neutered tomcat mates.
The urge to mate depends on factors such as age and if he's mated before. A tomcat neutered at a young age is unlikely to develop sexual urges because he probably has never mated before. If an older tomcat is neutered, he is more likely to maintain his natural urges to mate. An outdoor male cat roams around to find a mate. An indoor male cat becomes restless and wants to go outside to find a mate.
