What is a new treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia?

As of 2015, a new drug for treating chronic lymphocytic leukemia is oblimersen, states the American Cancer Society. This drug works together with chemotherapy to make cancer go into remission. Lumiliximab is an antibody, or a synthetic immune system protein, that helps the immune system attack leukemia cells.

Lenalidomide is a drug that primarily fights lymphoma and myeloma, but studies show that it also helps fight chronic lymphocytic leukemia, states the American Cancer Society. In clinical trials, BL22, which is an immunotoxin, shows promise of getting rid of hairy cell leukemia, and another version of it called HA22 shows promise in fighting chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
