By Forinfos - 15/02/2026 - 0 comments
In William Shakespeare's play "Macbeth," Ross tells Macduff that Scotland is in chaos, with men dying left and right. He also tells Macduff that his entire family has been violently killed, which spurs Macduff to seek revenge on Macbeth.
Ross has to be pressed by Macduff to deliver this information, as he is hesitant to deliver such awful news. This moment, where Ross fills Macduff in on the violence taking place, is pivotal to the play. Before this moment, Macduff struggles to convince Malcolm to combat Macbeth. Once Ross delivers his fateful news, Malcolm is ready to violently take on Macbeth. Macduff's reaction is also strong. He is stunned by the news, blames himself, and finally become angry.
