What is the NIMS 100 test?

The NIMS 100 test is part of the testing that needs to be completed by members of the governmental emergency aid program FEMA. NIMS 100 is a foundation course for most other National Incident Management Systems.

The test involves an obstacle course that all members must pass to move on to the written part of the exam. The exam covers questions on what to do during emergency situations including weather issues, fire, evacuation, war, poverty and illness. People who receive training from NIMS 100 are responsible for helping those affected by such emergencies and are also supposed to give a detailed report about the incident.
