What is the normal PSA range for men?
By Forinfos - 10/02/2025 - 0 comments
A normal PSA level in men is less than 4 nanograms per milliliter, according to WebMD. Because younger patients usually have smaller prostates, some studies suggest that an appropriate PSA level for a younger man is 2.5 nanograms per milliliter or less.
Conditions that cause elevated PSA levels include prostate cancer, prostatitis and an enlarged prostate, notes WebMD. Because the trend of the PSA level is just an important as the level itself, clinicians commonly consider how much and how quickly the PSA is rising. A PSA test is performed by drawing a blood sample, and results are usually available in a few days.
