Where is Norris Lake, Tennessee?

Norris Lake is a reservoir located in northwestern Tennessee, approximately 30 miles north of Knoxville. Parts of the lake are located in Anderson, Campbell, Claiborne, Grainger and Union counties. The lake covers over 33,000 acres along the Clinch and Powell rivers and is up to 210 feet deep.
Towns near Norris Lake include Norris, Rocky Top and Andersonville. The Tennessee Valley Authority created the lake by completing Norris Dam in 1936 to alleviate flooding problems in the region. The lake is a popular location for boating, waterskiing, fishing, camping and swimming. Norris Lake ranks as the 91st largest lake in the United States.
