What is a North Carolina judiciary case search?

The North Carolina Court System searches calendars of upcoming court cases using someone's last name, the case number, or an attorney's bar number. Court records are obtained through a Superior Court's clerk within the county of residence of an involved party.

Printed, certified court documents cost $25 per file, as of September 2014. Public access terminals at a clerk's office show non-certified copies of court records, and there is a fee for printing such records. Online court calendar searches reveal the person's name, offense and description of the criminal charge.

Otherwise, North Carolina recommends third-party vendors for ongoing court record information involving criminal background checks. Vendors who check criminal backgrounds charge fees for their services.
