Nuns live in a place called a nunnery or convent; however, there are cases when nuns are said to live in a monastery, which is also a place where monks live. Nuns are female members of a community devoted to live chaste, obedient and selfless lives in order to serve their God and community.
Nuns do not normally get married, and so do not bare children. They dedicate their lives to educating others and providing aid to the less fortunate in the society. Nuns may take care of orphans, the old and people who are disabled or sick and have nowhere to turn to.
