What is the nutritional value of egg whites?

By Forinfos - 23/07/2025 - 0 comments

One large egg white weighs approximately 1.2 ounces and contains 17 calories, less than 0.1 grams of fat, no cholesterol, 55 milligrams of sodium, 0.2 grams of carbohydrates and 3.6 grams of protein. As they are a good source of protein and low in calories, egg whites are a popular food among dieters.

Egg whites also contain low levels of calcium, folate, potassium and selenium. Conversely, whole eggs contain vitamin A, vitamin B12, vitamin D, calcium, folate, potassium, selenium and omega-3 fatty acids. Thus, whole eggs contain more nutrients than plain egg whites, though they also contain significantly more cholesterol, which may not be a healthy option for everyone.
