How nutritious is corn?

By Forinfos - 12/01/2026 - 0 comments

A 1-cup serving of corn contains 22 percent of the FDA-recommended daily value of iron. It also contains 13 percent of the suggested daily amount of vitamin C as well as 10 percent of the recommended daily value of potassium and carbohydrates.

A cup of corn has about 124 total calories. Nine of those are from fat, which equals only 1 gram per cup. A serving has only 2 milligrams of sodium; however, a portion has 4 grams of protein and almost the same quantity of fiber. Corn does not contain meaningful amounts of other nutrients, such as calcium or additional vitamins.
