Is obtaining a fake high school diploma illegal?

Obtaining a fake high school diploma or any type of educational diploma is not illegal; however, using the educational diploma is illegal in some states, such as Florida, reports Fox4 News. It is not, however, illegal to lie on a resume, and people can report that they have graduated from high school without worry of jail time or fines.

The problem with these fake diplomas is that they can help people land jobs that they would be unable to get otherwise and beat out students who legitimately earned a diploma. The only reason why a person should obtain a fake diploma for high school or college would be for novelty's sake, reports Fox 4.
