Which oceans do sharks live in?

Roughly 400 shark species are scattered throughout all of the world's oceans in warm, temperate and cold waters. While some inhabit shallow, coastal regions, others are found in the extreme depths of the open water.
Sharks are generally solitary, swimming away soon after birth to fend for themselves. The diet of most species consists of a variety of crustaceans, fish, krill, mollusks, plankton and other marine mammals. Sharks rarely remain in the same territory unless food is plentiful. They may even travel hundreds of miles in search of a meal, using an acute sense of smell to detect blood from great distances.
