If a Mason is attending an important meeting where the ritual work requires an amount of respect, the basic appropriate attire is a suit and tie. Dress code varies greatly from Lodge to Lodge.
No matter the climate, some Lodges require their Masons to wear the smart dress of their country, or whatever is considered culturally acceptable in their country. This can be a tuxedo or a more casual khaki pants and button-up shirt.
Masons are given white aprons that symbolize innocence. The aprons have different designs and emblems according to the authority of each Mason. A consistency in the design of the apron is the All-Seeing Eye emblem, which is a symbol of watchfulness and mindfulness of the Supreme Being.
