How old is Saturn?
By Forinfos - 23/06/2025 - 0 comments
Saturn, like the rest of the planets in the solar system, was formed a little over four and a half billion years ago. The planets formed from a spinning cloud of gas and dust that was leftover from the creation of the sun.
Saturn is the sixth planet in the solar system and is unique for its large system of rings. While Saturn itself was formed at the same time as the other planets, its rings were thought to have been formed later. Once the planet itself had formed, it possessed a strong enough gravitational pull to destroy a small moon and create the system of rings it has today.
