What is ooma?

Ooma is a phone service that uses voice over Internet protocol technology that requires an Internet connection, a phone line and a phone set to use. As of 2014, Ooma requires a one time fee to purchase an Ooma device, but has no monthly charges.

As of 2014, Ooma allows calls to anywhere in the United States for free, but has a fee for international calls. Ooma does not require a computer to use, and the only hardware required is the Ooma box. Ooma supports 3-way conference calling and comes with built-in voicemail. Ooma assigns users a new telephone number or offers to transport existing numbers for a fee.
