An Ori-Pei puppy, which is a cross between a pug and a Chinese Shar-Pei, has a round head with a dark square muzzle and deep facial wrinkles. It has a short coat in one of several colors, including black, white, brown, gray or various mixtures.

Ori-Peis are considered non-sporting toy dogs. A first generation Ori-Pei has a pure pug and pure Shar-Pei for parents. If both parents are Ori-Peis, the puppy belongs to the second generation. These primarily indoor puppies are friendly, playful and happy around humans. They become lonely if left by themselves very long. Ori-Pei puppies are smart and learn tricks quickly.
