Nike, Inc. has no single specific owner. According to Nasdaq, the company is a publicly traded one, with its shares listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol NKE.
As of May, 2014, 83.29 percent of Nike's shares were owned by institutions. The Vanguard Group, Inc. is the largest institutional holder of shares, with over 41 million shares total. Other large shareholders include State Street Corp. with 32 million shares, Bank of New York Mellon Corp with 22 million and Capital World Investors with 22 million. The total worth of the shares in May 2014, as reported by Nasdaq, was over $43.1 billion.
