Robert E. Lowe is the founder, president and owner of trucking company Prime Inc. He founded the company in Urbana, Missouri with a single dump truck in 1970, when he was a 19-year-old engineering student at the University of Missouri.

Lowe moved the company to Springfield, Missouri in 1980, where it still has its headquarters as of 2015. Transport Topics lists the trucking firm as the 22nd largest commercial carrier in the United States, with over 6,200 trucks and 10,200 trailers. The company is considered an industry leader in logistics and international refrigeration, tanker, flatbed, floral and intermodal transportation. It has experienced consistent growth since 1986.
