What is the best paiint to use for aluminum siding?

For aluminum siding, use a high-quality exterior, 100 percent acrylic house and trim paint that has a flat or satin finish. As long as no metal is exposed, primer isn't needed on aluminum siding.

Prepare the siding by getting rid of all dirt, chalk and mildew. If there are places with exposed metal, remove all white oxide with a nonmetallic scouring pad, wash off and rinse. Apply a latex exterior corrosion-inhibiting primer to the places where metal is exposed. If the siding is dented or uneven, use a paint with a flat finish. A satin finish will create a rich, new look, but it will also highlight the dents.
