From the fossil records, it appears that palm trees are originally from the Mediterranean. There is evidence of palm trees as far back as 56 million years ago.
Palm trees grow all over the world, particularly in warm and tropical climates. In the United States, they are often found in Florida, South Carolina and southern California. Other areas of the world with palm trees include Australia, Chile, Peru, Iran, Pakistan, China, India and Mexico. Palm trees are decorative and add a tropical element to landscape designs. They also provide various uses, including medicine, fuel, jewelry, chutney, vinegar, syrup and juice.
