What is the partial pressure formula?

The partial pressure formula is the product of the number of moles of a component of a substance divided by the total number of moles of the substance, multiplied by the barometric pressure. The partial pressure can be expressed using the atmosphere unit, abbreviated as atm.
The partial pressure formula derives from Dalton's law of partial pressures. The law states that the sum of the pressures of each component in a substance equals the pressure of the entire substance. Mathematically, this law is expressed as P(total) = P1 + P2 + P3 + ... . The ratio between the moles of a component and the total number of moles is called the mole fraction.
