Do you have to pay a co-pay with Medicare part B?

A recipient of Medicare Part B pays a co-pay of 20 percent of the Medicare-approved amount for doctor services, durable medical equipment and outpatient therapy, as of 2015, according to Medicare.gov. Recipients also pay 20 percent co-pays for doctors' services rendered during inpatient hospitalizations.

In addition, Medicare recipients with incomes less than $85,000 per year or $170,000 for couples filing joint income tax returns pay a premium of $104.90 per month for Part B coverage, and recipients have annual deductibles of $147, notes Medicare.gov. There is no co-pay for clinical laboratory services, home health care services, some preventive services and yearly depression screenings.
