What are the payment options for Ameren Illinois?

Ameren Illinois accepts debit or credit card payments, electronic check payments, and online banking payments. While the electronic check payment option is free, card transactions include a $2.75 convenience fee per transaction, as of 2015. Your bank may charge you for online banking transactions.

To make an online payment, you need a credit or debit Visa or MasterCard, or American Express credit card. Phone payments require either an electronic check or either a credit or debit card.

For payments above $99,999, you may be forced to make multiple payments and pay the convenience fee for each transaction. Ameren has also limited the number of card transactions to five within a 25-day period, to protect clients.
