How do you get a Pennsylvania tax ID number?
By Forinfos - 01/02/2026 - 0 comments
When a business (either a corporation or a limited liability company) is registered with the state of Pennsylvania, the Department of Revenue automatically issues a tax ID number. It takes up to 2 months to receive the account number.
The ID number automatically issued after business registration is for reporting revenue only. A business must file a separate PA-100 form to obtain tax ID numbers for additional taxes, such as employer withholding tax, unemployment compensation and worker's compensation coverage. The form is also used to file for industry-specific taxes like the hotel occupancy tax. The form can be filed online with a turnaround time of 2 business days, or by mail.
